@Goldenhusky321 is the author of this Shmoofy story. Here is the comment they attached to the submission: "I hope you like it! I decided to go a more creepy route with this, when I saw that he was a toy that could move I instantly thought of the FNAF book series so that was definitely my inspiration for this. :)"

This is the first Shmoofy fic I get to include on the index. Read the story below.

He sat upon a store shelf, waiting for a chance to get out of there, waiting for a child to get him. That’s when he saw a little girl and her father walk into a store, he knocked something off the shelf so she would notice him.

The little girl stared at the toy with wide eyes, it was a fluffy teddy bear with a sown on smile.

“Daddy look!” She said as she pointed to the toy “Can I get this pleeeeeease?”

“I don’t know sweetie, something about it just looks…off.”

“But, it’s so cute.” She pouted, doing puppy dog eyes. “Pleeeeeeeeease?”

But before her father could respond the toy had fallen off the shelf, and landed next to her feet. She quickly picked it up and added “See?” She read the name on the its tag “Shm-oof-y wants to come home with me.” Her father sighed and reluctantly gave in to her pleas. Just as he was about to pay for it the shopkeeper stopped him and stuttered

“Oh, you can just take that thing, it-it’s free.” He sounded suspicious but the father didn’t pay him too much mind and just thanked him. The little girl walked home hugging the little bear with a smile on her face, not understanding why her father was so reluctant to get him.

“We’re going to best friends forever and ever ok Shmoofy? You’re so cute, I love you.” She said to the toy as she walked home.

As the days went on a couple of…strange things started happening around her house. Knives would often go missing from her kitchen drawers, her maids would speak of seeing shadowy figures moving around in the night, and sometimes she’d even wake up to a note written to her, they all said it was from Shmoofy. As this kept happening her father got more and more stressed, thinking that it had be that toy, that had to it, but it couldn’t be, it was just a toy. At least, that’s what he thought it was…As he was walking through his house he passed the little girl’s bedroom and overheard her say

“I know you don’t like him but what do you want me to do? I like him…and I think you should too. He hasn’t even done anything to you yet.” He entered her room and asked

“Who are you talking to sweetie?” With a shaky voice.

“Shmoofy.” She said sadly “He told me in this note that he doesn’t like you.”

“Note? What note?”

“This one.” She handed him the latest note from off of her desk, the handwriting on the note was scratchy and not the cleanest. Seeing  this her father assumed that she had written it herself and just had an imagination.

“This is clearly your handwriting sweetheart, now why would you write all of this?” He questioned. But she quickly snapped back

“I didn’t write it! It really was Shmoofy, you can ask him!” She held Shmoofy up to him, as if to tell him to actually ask.

“Don’t lie to me, I know you have

“But it really wasn’t me, you wrote that note right Shmoofy?” She propped the toy up in a sitting position and waited for a couple of seconds until the toy Gabe a little nod.

“See! I told you it wasn’t me! Dad?…” Her father’s face looked petrified, staring at the toy for a while wondering how it moved on its own. After he got his bearings he swiftly grabbed the bear and stormed outside her room.

“Wait, where are you taking him?!” She asked, following quickly behind him. He didn’t respond and just kept walking until they reached outside. He chucked Shmoofy in the dumpster, despite his daughter’s pleas not to and to give him back.

“No!” She shouted sadly.

Her father sighed heavily and  said “There. What’s done is done.” In an apathetic manner. “Come on sweetheart let’s go back inside, you didn’t need that toy anyway.”

“Shmoofy…” She mumbled dejectedly. She didn’t speak much the rest of the day, feeling sad that her friend was gone.

The next day was quiet, more quiet than normal. There weren’t any of the servants running around doing stuff, there wasn’t the sound of food cooking, and there wasn’t the sound of her fathers footsteps. Of course though, she didn’t even notice the silence, because once she woke up Shmoofy was sitting on top of her desk, looking completely pristine with his little sown on smile.

“Shmoofy!” She happily shouted. She ran over and tightly hugged the little toy.

“I was so scared for you. are you ok?” The toy gave a nod in response, seeming perfectly happy.

“Great! Let’s go tell father-“ before she could finish her sentence Shmoofy shook his head, then walked toward her bed, as if to tell her to not leave her room, not yet at least.

“Oh, are you tired? Well, I guess I’m still a little tired too. Fine we’ll sleep for a little while longer.” She went to sleep happy, blissfuly unaware of anything outside her bedroom door.
